The committee accepted a substitute version of House Bill (HB) 154 during its second hearing. The revised bill would create a five-member panel, called the School Transformation Board, charged with overseeing improvement efforts in school districts with persistently low report card grades, among other responsibilities.

Growing leaders from your staff
Encouraging and finding new leaders should be at the top of any good manager’s priority list. While some administrators see emerging leadership in their staff as a potential threat to their own management, there’s almost no downside to encouraging involvement and increased responsibilities. Good managers delegate, great managers foster leaders. The more you encourage people to take on responsibility, the stronger your team will be and the more they, and you, can achieve.
Earlier this week, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) introduced a student wellness and success page on its website. ODE created the page to provide information to school districts, community partners and parents about ODE-allocated funding to support student wellness and success.
