Do you tweet? Many school leaders started using Twitter during the pandemic to engage with students and families. School meetings were online, and face-to-face conversations were limited due to physical distancing requirements. Twitter offered a way to connect, inspire and show appreciation despite school closures.

Voluntary Abandonment and Worker's Compensation

Voluntary abandonment is an interesting term that sometimes comes up in relation to workers’ compensation claims. The term usually came up when an employer offered, in good faith, an injured employee suitable alternative employment. If the employee accepted this offer, he/she could more quickly return to work and the employer could save on the claim.

Situational Awareness Bulletin: October TikTok Challenge

The Ohio School Safety Center (OSSC) has learned of a new October social media challenge that impacts Ohio schools and, specifically, staff and educators. 

Some TikTok users have devised a monthly list that includes various pranks or “challenges” to take place at school. For example, in recent weeks, there have been incidents of school vandalism as part of the "devious lick" challenge.
