Governor activity
Gov. Mike DeWine signed into law House Bill (HB) 51. The bill allows a public body, including a board of education, to temporarily meet remotely until June 30, 2022. It also revises the process for adjusting property values due to instances that result in injury or destruction to the property and includes federal tax law conformity provisions. Both the ability for a public body to meet remotely and the federal tax law provisions took immediate effect.
Earlier today, Governor DeWine signed HB 51 into law.

The Ohio General Assembly passed House Bill (HB) 82 in June 2021, and it became effective on Sept. 30, 2021. HB 82 revised the state report card system for school districts, beginning with the report card issued for the 2021-2022 school year. However, the overall rating for schools and districts will not begin until the 2022-23 school year.

General Assembly activity
In 2016, OSBA created the OSBA Scholarship Foundation to accept donations for and disburse funds from the five OSBA scholarships. The five scholarships are:
Earlier this week, the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) announced that several revisions to Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) rules related to Ohio School Report Cards have been posted on its website and are open for public comment.
Governor activity
Gov. Mike DeWine signed into law House Bill (HB) 93. The bill revises the Address Confidentiality Program and makes changes to county recorder fees. The bill also moves the congressional candidate filing deadline to March 4, 2022; modifies petition requirements; makes changes to candidate filings due to residency and district numbers; and allows the secretary of state to modify administrative deadlines.
