Mental health issues can affect classroom learning and social interactions, both of which are critical to the success of students. These may include anxiety, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, low self-esteem, autism bipolar disorder and eating disorders to name a few. Providing the services that children and youth may need to help them better manage and support their mental health needs at school can be quite challenging.

U.S. Department of Education releases most recent Civil Rights Data Collection

Earlier this week, the U. S. Department of Education’s (USDOE) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) released the most recent biennial Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC). The data included in the 2015-16 CRDC was self-reported by more than 17,300 public school districts and almost 96,400 public schools and educational programs.

Last chance to nominate your video team

May 25 is the deadline to nominate a student team to document the OSBA Capital Conference, Nov. 11-13. One high school team will be selected to film a variety of events, conduct interviews and edit the footage to create a 10-minute documentary of the conference.
