Biennial budget update
The House Finance Subcommittee on Primary and Secondary Education has finished hearings on the education provisions of the biennial budget legislation, House Bill (HB) 49. The General Assembly is set to begin its two-week spring recess April 10. We anticipate the House will have its changes incorporated into a substitute version of HB 49 when members return.

Ohio Supreme Court issues decision in Renewal Levy case
On Wednesday, the Ohio Supreme Court issued a decision in State ex rel. Delaware Joint Vocational School Dist. Bd. of Edn. v. Testa, Slip Opinion No. 2017-Ohio-796. The case, discussed in a Jan. 27 Legal Ledger post, involves a Renewal Levy passed in November 2015 by the Delaware Area Career Center (DACC).
