House activity
The House passed House Bill (HB) 244 by a vote of 97-0. The bill would require K-12 schools to allow military children who are relocating but not yet residents of the district to enroll electronically and participate in technology-based educational opportunities.

Week of May 10

Governor activity
Gov. Mike DeWine announced that most health orders will end on June 2, including mask mandates, social distancing and capacity restrictions. Health orders that pertain to nursing homes, assisted living facilities and data collection will not be rescinded. DeWine further stated that business and schools would be allowed to continue any restrictions.

What kind of leader are you?

I had an interesting conversation with a board member last week. As we discussed the events of this past year and all we've learned, she said we really need to take some time to look at the kind of a leader we were, and understand now - what kind of leaders we are. I spent some time thinking about the notion that it's quite possible our leadership style or type evolved over the last year. Certainly, we evolve every year, right? However, leading through a pandemic and through all that the pandemic dealt us - changed leaders.
