Property Tax Valuation Appeals

County auditors are required to appraise and assess each parcel of land in their counties. These appraisals lead to an initial determination of taxable value for the property, reflected on a tax bill sent to the property owner in late December or January. In certain circumstances, property owners and school boards are able to challenge the county auditor's appraisal by filing a complaint with the county board of revision.

Next week’s testimony opportunities
The House Ways and Means Committee will be holding a hearing on House Bill (HB) 1, tax reform, on Tuesday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. They will be accepting proponent, opponent and interested party testimony during this hearing.
