OSBA has several statewide groups. These groups allow similar districts to network to solve problems unique to their district type. The groups include:
OSBA Ambassadors for Public Education - This committee supports OSBA’s efforts to build greater public confidence in Ohio’s public schools and better educate our communities about public education. The program is established as a community outreach program assisting local school board members in increasing public awareness and having an understanding of issues, facing our communities, state and country.
OSBA Black Caucus - The OSBA Black Caucus' mission is to promote and provide education to its members and/or interested parties on unique challenges and opportunities faced by African-American board members through out the state of Ohio.
OSBA Board Member Cabinet - The ultimate goal of the Board Member Cabinet is to share the perspective of local school boards and the association with Ohio’s superintendent of public instruction, governor’s office and other policy making bodies.
OSBA Diversity and Equity Committee - This committee supports OSBA’s efforts to promote and build awareness of issues relating to diversity in schools, equity in education and initiatives to enhance diverse students’ academic achievement.
OSBA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEBI) Committee - The OSBA Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEBI) Committee works to provide events for our membership and our staff to enhance understanding of diversity and inclusion in our schools and workplace.
Small School District Advisory Network - The purpose of the SSDAN is to exchange information concerning the education problems of small districts; develop programs and policies to meet the educational needs of small districts; and make recommendations to the OSBA executive director concerning the educational needs of small districts.
Urban Network - The premier advisory voice to OSBA in assisting urban school boards of education to effectively prepare all students to be globally competitive and successful in college and/or career.
Kids PAC - Kids PAC gives board members the opportunity to belong to a PAC whose membership was aware of the problems facing boards of education and whose goals were aimed at dealing with those issues.
Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys - OCSBA provides a statewide forum on the practical legal problems faced by school attorneys, promotes a closer relationship between school attorneys and their client school board members and works to improve legal services available to boards of education through the collection and dissemination of school law information.
Ohio Education Policy Institute - OEPI conducts research and analysis on policies, proposals and factors affecting education funding.
OSBA Legal Assistance Fund - LAF is a trust fund established to provide supportive assistance to boards of education in cases or controversies of statewide significance primarily at the appellate level.
OSBA Insurance Trust - The OSBA Insurance Trust has been dedicated to serving education through a variety of employee benefit programs.
