House Finance Committee

The committee continued to hear public testimony on House Bill (HB) 49, the biennial budget. The following witnesses offered testimony on the education provisions in the budget.

• Rob Amodio, Norwood City superintendent;

• George Anagnostou, Strongsville City treasurer;

• Craig Burford, Ohio Educational Service Center Association executive director;

• Emily Hauser, St. Bernard-Elmwood Place City treasurer/CFO;

• Tim Pickana, Coalition for Fiscal Fairness in Ohio president and Solon City treasurer;

• Mike Sobul, Coalition for Fiscal Fairness in Ohio.

 

Senate Finance Committee

The committee heard testimony from Office of Budget and Management Director Tim Keen on the biennial budget bill. Keen testified on the entire budget and answered questions from committee members.

 

Senate Finance Committee’s Primary and Secondary Education Subcommittee

The subcommittee held its first meeting on the biennial budget legislation. Keen offered testimony on the education provisions in the budget and answered questions from committee members.

 

Senate Transportation, Commerce and Workforce Committee

The committee accepted a substitute version of Senate Bill (SB) 3. This legislation would revise the laws governing the state’s workforce development system and the programs that schools may offer. The bill also would designate the first week of May as In-Demand Jobs Week. The committee passed the bill.
