School safety resources
Every district is concerned about the safety of its students. Board members and district administrators must work with local first responders to ensure safety and security plans are comprehensive and up-to-date. The following resources and agencies can assist as you build your safety plans and evaluate the various ways you are working to keep your students safe.
Ohio School Safety Center - responsible for assisting local schools and law enforcement with preventing, preparing for, and responding to threats and acts of violence, including self-harm, through a holistic, solutions-based approach to improving school safety. Resources include:

Ohio Opioid Education Alliance - A public-private partnership focused on raising awareness of the addiction crisis in Ohio and eliminating stigmas associated with addiction and mental illness.

School Board Safety Checklist - Working with the Governor’s School Safety Task Force and the Ohio School Resource Officers Association, OSBA has helped develop a checklist for safer board meetings.
