Benefits of OSBA Membership
Membership in the Ohio School Boards Association is open to Ohio’s city, exempted village, local and joint vocational school district boards of education, educational service center governing boards and the State Board of Education.
OSBA provides member boards and their school districts with skill building and informative education programs, publications and consultant services. When school boards vote to join OSBA, their administrators and staff are also eligible to participate in OSBA training, services and programs. Many of these events and services are free to members.
OSBA represents the views of members with education policymakers in Columbus and Washington, D.C. Our advocacy efforts are directed by the membership through an annual resolutions process and at the Business Meeting of the OSBA Delegate Assembly, where each school district may appoint a school board member to be their delegate and vote on proposed changes to the OSBA Legislative Platform. Adopted resolutions become the positions that form OSBA's Legislative Platform.
OSBA also assists members with legal questions, policy guidance, board governance training, superintendent and search services, strategic planning services, transportation consulting, communications activities and much more.
School board members and their districts can take advantage of numerous products and services available through their membership in OSBA. These entities become members upon payment of dues.
If you would like additional information regarding membership, please contact Mark E. Bobo, director of member releations, via email or by calling (614) 540-4000.
